On Thursday 24 April, we will be back with FXT25, this time at a new location! We are moving to Hasselt, Capital of Taste, at PXL Hogeschool, home to PXL Catering, which won a Gault&Millau award in 2024 for the most tasteful catering dish of the year. FXT25 is made possible thanks to the support of the Province of Limburg as our event partner.
What is FXT?
FXT stands for "food meets tech", an event where food and technology come together to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable food system.
What do we mean by foodtech?
According to DigitalFoodLab, foodtech includes all entrepreneurs and startups within the agri-food sector that innovate in the areas of products, distribution, marketing and business models. It consists of six domains:
✅ Agtech (agricultural innovation)
✅ Food science (e.g. alternative proteins, functional ingredients)
✅ Foodservice (hospitality innovation)
✅ Consumer tech (digital consumer applications)
✅ Delivery (food delivery)
✅ Supply chain (sustainable logistics & food waste solutions)
The match between foodtech and food transition
The food sector is under pressure from climate change, geopolitical uncertainties and food security challenges. However, technology offers crucial solutions for a more sustainable food system, with innovations in agtech, food science and supply chain management.
